During our family trip to Kumamoto, we stayed at Hotel Wing International Select Kumamoto, which offered a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Kumamoto, within walking distance to both Kamitori and Shimotori shopping arcades, making it easy to enjoy shopping and dining options nearby.
For transportation, the hotel is approximately a 3-minute walk from Suidocho Station, providing access to the city's tram network. From there, it's about a 15-minute tram ride to JR Kumamoto Station. To reach Aso Kumamoto Airport, travelers can take a 40-minute bus ride from the station.

One of the hotel's notable advantages is its proximity to Kumamoto Castle, a historic landmark and one of Japan's most famous castles. The castle is approximately a 10-minute walk from the hotel, making it easy for guests to explore this significant cultural site.
The hotel's lobby is located on the 2nd floor, accessible via an elevator from the ground level. It's important to note that the hotel is situated along a busy street and does not have a designated area for unloading luggage, which may pose a challenge for guests arriving by car. However, there is a partnered parking lot directly across the street, offering overnight parking at a discounted rate of ¥1,200.

On the 12th floor, the hotel features a public bath with separate facilities for men and women. The men's bath includes a sauna, while the women's bath offers a mist sauna. The baths are open from 3:00 PM to 11:00 AM the following day, providing a relaxing experience with views of the city.
Also located on the 12th floor are coin-operated laundry facilities, including washing machines and dryers, which are convenient for guests on extended stays.
Room rates at the hotel vary depending on the season and room type. A Standard Double Room typically ranges from ¥10,710 to ¥13,840 (approximately USD 70–90), while a Standard Twin Room ranges from ¥12,496 to ¥15,730 (around USD 82–105). Higher-category rooms such as Deluxe Twin and Connecting Rooms are also available at a higher rate, making them suitable for families or larger groups.
Room Experience (Double Room)
The standard double room we stayed in offered a reasonable amount of space for a city-center business hotel. With two adults and a toddler, it felt slightly compact but still manageable for placing luggage and moving around. The carpeted flooring and light-colored interior design created a clean and bright atmosphere. The mattress was on the firmer side with good support, which suited travelers who prefer harder beds and provided us with a restful sleep. The room included a small wardrobe with open hanging space for coats or shirts, as well as a vanity desk with a large mirror, which was convenient for getting ready or applying makeup. Essential appliances were all provided, such as a mini-fridge, electric kettle, hair dryer, and flat-screen TV, making the stay comfortable and practical.
Bathroom and Amenities
The bathroom featured a compact unit-style design, yet the wet and dry areas were well separated, so the floor did not stay wet after showering. Bright lighting made the space feel comfortable and easy to use. Amenities included refillable large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which were both eco-friendly and practical. Water pressure and temperature were stable without sudden changes, ensuring a pleasant shower experience that was relaxing after a day of exploring the city.
Overall, Hotel Wing International Select Kumamoto offers a convenient location, comfortable accommodations, and useful amenities such as the rooftop public bath and laundry facilities, making it a suitable choice for travelers exploring Kumamoto.
